Life Saved #2940

On October 10th, 2024, a 6-month-old boy choked on vomit, resulting in a total obstruction. Protocol was followed, and LifeVac removed the obstruction on its first use! The child’s mother describes the incident as follows:

“I will be honest, purchasing the LifeVac kit was my husband’s idea and I thought he was exaggerating, that it would just be some more clutter to have around, and never use it. Oh boy, was I wrong? That night, my baby wasn’t feeling too good; he had some shots at the pediatrician earlier that day and was just fussy and upset. He had his dinner, and later, we did his bedtime routine like always. Even though we could tell he was tired, he wouldn’t fall asleep. I put him down in his crib and sang to him. All of a sudden, he vomited a lot. I picked him up and tried cleaning him when I realized he wasn’t breathing, there was curdled milk everywhere. I sat down and did the blows to the back and thrusts to the chest routine a few times, but it didn’t work. He was getting red. I grabbed it, put the baby on the floor, and used it once, more vomit came out of his mouth and nose and he took a breath and started crying. At that point I hugged him and cried too. The ambulance showed up a few minutes later, the EMTs checked his vitals and listened to his lungs and said he was perfectly fine. Thank you for providing a product that saved my baby’s life.
