Life Saved #3143

On November 23rd, 2024, a 1-year-old girl choked on goldfish crackers resulting in a total obstruction. Protocol was followed. LifeVac removed the obstruction on its third use. The child’s mother describes the incident as follows:

“My daughter is doing well. It was certainly a scary experience. She was just finishing up her goldfish she was having with lunch. Next thing we knew she was choking. My husband reacted quickly and immediately started back blows with no luck. We keep our LifeVac ready to go hanging on the inside of our pantry door. He grabbed that and on the third try with the LifeVac her air way was clear and she started vomiting. Her eyes rolled to the back of her head, she turned blue, and then lost consciousness. She will be two Thursday and if it weren’t for the LifeVac we know we would not be celebrating our girls birthday. I am forever grateful. I will be checking with our daycare tomorrow and if they do not have these, we will be donating a few.”
