Life Saved #3147

On February 15th, 2024, a 1 year old girl choked on a chicken nugget resulting in a partial obstruction. Protocol was followed. LifeVac removed the obstruction on its first use! The child’s mother describes the incident as follows:

“My little one choked on a chicken nugget. I am CPR certified. I looked in her mouth to see if I could ‘finger sweep’ the food but it was too deep for me to see. I then started front blows, followed by back blows & was unsuccessful. Her lips were starting to get a blue undertone but she was still getting a little air. I then called 911 & re-tried another set of front/back blows which were unsuccessful. I then grabbed the LifeVac and laid her on the floor. Upon one try with the LifeVac, the chicken nugget dislodged and she vomited. We followed up with the hospital and they didn’t see any damage to her throat or vomit/liquid in her lungs from aspiration. She made a full recovery and was eating well by dinner. We are so unbelievably thankful for the LifeVac!!!”
