Life Saved #3244

On December 11th, 2024, a 20 month-old- girl choked on a grape resulting in a total obstruction. Protocol was followed. LifeVac removed the obstruction on its second use. The child’s mother described the incident as follows:

“She is doing just fine. She was eating grapes and one got lodged in her throat. She was silent, staring, and not moving when her dad immediately realized she was choking. He tried back blows multiple times with no luck. He grabbed the LifeVac and tried once unsuccessfully. He started to call 911 as he tried the LifeVac the second time and successfully removed the grape. She immediately let out a cry after which we were thankful for because she could not breathe. The grape was a complete blockage.”
