On January 4th, 2025, an 11 year old boy choked on steak resulting in a total obstruction. Protocol was followed. LifeVac removed the obstruction on its first use! The child’s father described the incident as follows:

“This is what happened: last night as we’re eating at the dinner table my son (11 years old) suddenly stood up because he was choking. He couldn’t breathe at all. My wife jumped up screaming “oh my God he’s choking” and hit him on the back and then I tried hitting him on the back. When that didn’t work I then tried the Heimlich maneuver, that also didn’t work. My wife was screaming at me at the same time I was thinking go grab the LifeVac! I grabbed the LifeVac from underneath my bathroom sink, laid my son on the living room floor, put it over his mouth, and in one plunge a 2 inch piece of steak came right out. Right after he started crying and I knew he was going to be okay, I thank God for LifeVac! A few months earlier we had all practiced using this and when the time arosewe knew exactly what to do THANK YOU LIFEVAC! This was a very scary situation and after it was all over and everybody had calmed down I messaged everyone I knew, especially with children, to order one of these for their household. I had ordered the two pack home kit and after reading your information inside I found out that people with Parkinson’s are susceptible to choking so I gave one to my elderly parents, my mom has Parkinson’s. Once again, I can’t thank you enough. Without LifeVac we would have had to dial 911 and wait, I don’t know how long, for someone to arrive. This is an amazing device and worked perfectly, I’ll sure be taking it with us whenever we travel as well.”
