Life Saved #3698

On March 14^th a 1-year-old girl choked on Cheerios causing a partial obstruction. The choking rescue protocol was followed. LifeVac successfully dislodged the food on the second application.

The child’s mother described the incident as follows:

“On Friday morning, my daughter put a handful of cheerios in her mouth but was then upset by her brother. It appeared that she inhaled the cheerios as she began to cry, lodging them in her throat. I knew something was wrong when she was no longer crying but still visibly upset. I tried to administer back blows but it was not working to dislodge them. She had stopped breathing and passed out.

I quickly laid her down on her back on the floor and grabbed out LifeVac from my kitchen cabinet. I used it twice. After the second time, it worked and she began to breathe again and cry.  Shortly after the police and paramedics arrived to assess her, she was okay! If I had to wait for the paramedics, she would not have survived. LifeVac saved my daughter’s life! I’m extremely thankful for LifeVac, and will continue to share the importance of having one in every home and vehicle.”
