On April 27th, 2025 a 22-month-old baby girl choked on scrambled eggs resulting in a total obstruction. Protocol was followed. LifeVac successfully dislodged the obstruction on its third attempt. The child’s mother described the incident as follows:

The details of the event are: My daughter was eating scrambled eggs in her high chair gobbling them up. My husband George and I were in the kitchen with her. All was well, nothing seemed off or out of the ordinary. I turned around to grab something off of the counter behind her high chair, and George turned around to the sink to begin washing her bottles out. When I turned back around, I saw her slouching to one side of her high chair and called her name. I could not tell if she was sitting that way to goof off or what. I called her name again and there was no response. I walked to the front of her high chair to find her with blue lips and she was not responding. Calling her name with pure fear in my voice, George immediately turned around, saw her, ripped her out of the high chair and snatched the LifeVac from the top of our fridge. He immediately ran out the side door with her knowing I was calling 911. He laid her on the flat ground outside and instantly went into action with LifeVac!
I was on the phone with 911 and I also ran to our neighbor’s house next door (they work for the police department) and by the time I ran back to her and George, the scrambled eggs had come out and she was still a little bit out of it. By the time the EMT’s arrived, she was fully responsive and crying. She was taken to the Children’s Hospital close by and examined. All checked out well.
