On September 25th, 2026 a 3 month old boy choked on gripe water resulting in a total obstruction. Protocol was followed. LifeVac dislodged the obstruction on its third attempt. The child's mother described the incident as follows:
“THIS SAVED MY BABY’S LIFE! I was trying to feed him his last bottle of the night but he was being really fussy, so I thought maybe he was gassy. I’ve given him gripe water before and it helps calm him down some, so I gave it like I had before, but this time was different. He did not take it well and started choking and tensing up and ultimately couldn’t breathe. I tried sucking the gripe water out with my mouth, back blows with him face down, putting my fingers in the back of his mouth to get it out, nothing but the LifeVac helped!! I did 3 pushes and pulls and on the 3rd he started crying, FINALLY he started crying! He was breathing!! He wasn’t colored weird anymore. He wasn’t strained in his face or neck, his hands unclenched. He was breathing again. I was breathing again. Life came back to both of us. We’ve had several people hear our story and purchase life vacs after!
