On June 26th, 2026 a 5 year old boy choked on pizza resulting in a total obstruction. Protocol was followed. LifeVac dislodged the obstruction on its first attempt! The child's mother described the incident as follows:
“We were having dinner at Round Table Pizza when my 5-year-old son suddenly started choking on a piece of pizza/cheese. We immediately tried the Heimlich maneuver, but unfortunately, we couldn’t get it to work. Thankfully, we had a LifeVac in our car. We grabbed it, and it worked on the very first attempt 😭❤️ I don’t even want to imagine what could have happened if we hadn’t had it with us. As a mom, this was one of the scariest moments I’ve ever experienced. I’m so incredibly grateful we had a LifeVac nearby when we needed it most. He is doing great now, thankfully! It was definitely a very scary experience for all of us, and we are incredibly grateful that LifeVac was available when we needed it. It was something I never expected to experience, and it really showed me how important it is to be prepared for an emergency like this. We are beyond grateful that LifeVac was able to help our son. We hope sharing his story can encourage other families to be prepared as well. Thank you again for what you do and for creating something that gave us another tool when we desperately needed it.”
