On July 13th, 2025 a 1-year-old boy choked on a cookie resulting in a total obstruction. Protocol was followed. LifeVac successfully dislodged the obstruction on its second attempt. The child’s mother described the incident as follows:
“This device saved my 1-year-old son’s life today. I am a nurse practitioner and my husband is a critical care nurse. To say the least, we both know what to do when someone is choking. My husband did firm back thrusts multiple times with zero success. My son was completely blue and about to pass out when I handed the LifeVac to my husband. He did two attempts with the LifeVac and on the second attempt the cookie he was eating became dislodged. He then started breathing again. We just ordered four more of these to have them easily accessible. Everyone should have one of these in their car and home bare minimum. Amazing product and can’t be more appreciative of a single item in my house.”
