On October 3rd, 2025 a 1-year-old boy choked on saliva during a febrile seizure leaving him unconscious. Protocol was followed. LifeVac successfully dislodged the obstruction on its third attempt. The child’s family described the incident as follows:
“My 1-year-old son had a febrile seizure. He was completely unresponsive and limp. We thought we had lost our son in a matter of seconds. My husband gave standard back blows to get him to come to while I called for an ambulance. Back blows didn't work. We grabbed our LifeVac that was hanging on the wall in kitchen thinking he was choking on spit up or vomit during his seizure. On the third attempt it worked. Our son took a deep breath and started crying. I hands down KNOW LifeVac saved my son. This is why we have one in every to-go-bag. During the seizure and choking, my son was in his crib sleeping. I don't know if this would be your standard definition of "choking" but I know for a FACT LifeVac saved our baby boy. Forever thankful and forever a customer.
He is still on the mend but doing much much better! He's playing and laughing with his big sister like nothing ever happened. There was a moment I never thought I would hear him laugh again, so from the bottom of my heart, thank you. Thankful doesn't cover the amount of gratitude I feel towards LifeVacs mission. God bless.”
