Life Saved #6455

On August 9th, 2026 a 1 year old boy choked on food resulting in a total obstruction leaving him unconscious. Protocol was followed. LifeVac dislodged the obstruction on its first attempt! A good samaritan who utilized LifeVac described the incident as follows:

“Today I witnessed something I never expected to see. As I was leaving Sam’s Club, I saw a mother sitting on the ground holding her baby, surrounded by people trying to get help. I found out her baby was choking. I remembered I had a LifeVac in my car. I ran back, grabbed it, and used it on the baby. It was a pretty chaotic scene, and everybody was on their phones calling emergency. The mom was screaming and yelling. A few moments later, I heard him cry. That cry is something I don’t think I’ll ever forget. Minutes later, a police officer arrived, got the baby and started tapping him on the back, but I told him that the baby was already crying - that he was good and we used the LifeVac. I’m not sharing this for recognition. I’m sharing it because I bought that LifeVac thinking I might never have to use it — and today I did. If you have small children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, or are simply around kids, please consider keeping a choking rescue device nearby and, even more importantly, learn infant and child choking first aid/CPR. You never know when you might need it. Thank God that little boy was able to cry today.”
