On June 29th, 2026 an 8 year old girl choked on blood during a seizure resulting in a partial obstruction. Protocol was followed. LifeVac dislodged the obstruction on its first attempt! The childs mother described the incident as follows:
“My daughter choked on a popcorn chicken nugget in 2025. The LifeVac saved her life. Our neighbor is a nurse and had a LifeVac which dislodged it after 2 tries. This truly saved her life then. Once we saw how the LifeVac worked, we have been screaming from the rooftops for EVERYONE to have these in their car/home, young or old. This is why we always carry one with us.
This time she was playing with her cousins at Grandma's new home. She was apparently on top of a moving box. When the top collapsed, she fell and cracked the side of her head on the concrete. She seized, bit her tongue & was choking on the blood. We were able to use the LifeVac to clear her throat which woke her up. Then we realized the knot on her head, while we waited for EMS. We had her on the floor trying to keep her eyes open. My parents are far away from the hospital, so her and I were CareFlited to another location. All to her having a concussion in the end.
