Life Saved #6695

On September 19th, 2026 a 1 year old girl choked on a lego resulting in a total obstruction. Protocol was followed. LifeVac dislodged the obstruction on its second attempt. The childs mother described the incident as follows:

“We had just gotten our twins ready for bed and put them in their crib, which is in our room. My husband and I were talking in the bathroom, which their crib is completely visible from. Suddenly I hear our daughter coughing/gagging and I run to her and start patting her on the back. I tried to look in her mouth and even tried to sweep my finger in her mouth to see if she had anything. It was this time I noticed my 6 year old had legos sitting on my bed, which is right next to her crib. At this point her screaming went silent, and she was no longer making any noise and her face was turning blue. I handed her to my husband to hold face down and do back blows while I grabbed the LifeVac. I placed her on the bed and did two attempts before I swept her mouth to check and she threw up everywhere. At this point she is screaming and I know she can breathe. I checked through all her vomit and never found a Lego. We went to the ER immediately after to make sure she hadn’t aspirated anything. We spent most of the night in the emergency room doing X-rays and checking her oxygen levels. They sent her home after she drank a bottle with no issues.

It was a very traumatic experience. We had an incident a couple years ago as well around 4th of July where someone driving by our house on a golf cart had their granddaughter who was almost unconscious. At the time we thought she had possibly partially blocked her airway with watermelon she had been eating, I think this was also very much heat related. I had a LifeVac in my car that I ran to get. She was crying after using it and we waited for the ambulance to show. After this we bought a couple more LifeVacs and have them in different places. Thank God I had one in my room. I keep one in my car and I have one always in my baby bag. My mother, who is really the only other person who keeps my children, also has one in her home. She had gifted the extra two to me when I was pregnant with the twins. I’m so grateful for your product. It goes everywhere with us.”
