On March 1st, 2026, a 5-year-old girl choked on a cough drop. Basic life support protocols were followed. LifeVac successfully dislodged the obstruction on its second attempt. The child's grandfather described the incident as follows:
"My granddaughter was given a cough drop and there were no issues at first. She asked to go outside and swing, and I told her no because she had a cough drop and could choke. After a moment I think she attempted to swallow the cough drop so she could go play. She began to choke so I went to the bathroom and retrieved the LifeVac.
