Life Saved #6104

On June 14th, 2026 a 4 year old girl choked on a ring resulting in a total obstruction. Protocol was followed. LifeVac dislodged the obstruction on its second attempt. The child's mother described the incident as follows:

“My daughter decided it was a good idea to put a ring in her mouth and ended up choking on it. Her big sister alerted me to her choking. I found her unable to breathe and coughing up blood. I attempted do back blows to dislodge it and laid her flat on the ground. I handed the phone to my 14 year old son to call 911 and while he was doing that, I pulled the LifeVac device out of our first aid bin. I bought it years ago and threw it in the cabinet hoping I’d never actually need it. Today, I needed it. I sealed it around her mouth and pulled it. It didn’t dislodge at first so I attempted more back blows. Lily was breathing more at this point but couldn’t speak. I laid her back down and used it one more time. This was all while trying to talk to the 911 dispatcher and provide them with the information needed. Lily sat up and had one more cough and out the ring flew. This device saved her life. Within seconds, it removed the ring and she was able to breathe again. The paramedics came and checked her out, and thankfully she’s completely okay, safe, and back to her normal self. I am still shaken up. As a parent, you never think something like this is going to happen to your child until it does. If you’ve ever thought about buying an anti-choking device and talked yourself out of it, please don’t. I can’t tell you what to buy, but I can tell you that having one in my house made all the difference today. I can’t even express into words how grateful I am for LifeVac. It literally saved my daughter’s life. Give your kids an extra hug tonight. I know I will be.❤️ And for anyone wondering, yes, she’s okay. Mom just needs a little longer to recover from the heart attack she gave me”
