On November 1st, 2025 an 80 year old man choked on sausage resulting in a total obstruction. Protocol was followed. LifeVac successfully dislodged the obstruction on its fourth attempt. The mans granddaughter described the incident as follows:
“My grandfather was eating breakfast. We were doing his normal routine; he was prescribed a medical bed where he has been permanently living with us for the past year now. He was at a 45° angle, similar to hospital beds when the patient is eating. We had chopped up his sausage as small as we felt like we could, but it may still have been too big for him. He was able to successfully spit up the food from the suction of the LifeVac. We truly believe that this device saved his life because without it, we don’t know if EMS would’ve got here in time because his airways were blocked completely. We’re just grateful because we have been taking care of my grandad for so long, and we were praying that this was not the end of his story. I went ahead and ordered more. Since then, he’s choked three more times. Each time having the LifeVac and Jesus has been the only reason he is still with us. Because of how he sits, we can’t get to him any other way so praise the Lord! Thank you for this device. I now have one for multiple family members.
