On November 3rd, 2025, an 83-year-old woman experienced a total airway obstruction after choking on a piece of chicken, which caused her to lose consciousness. Basic life support protocols were initiated. LifeVac successfully dislodged the obstruction on the second attempt.
The first responder who saved her life described the incident as follows:
“Upon arrival, Rostraver Emergency Services were attempting to use a suction device that became clogged with food. I ran to my vehicle to retrieve the LifeVac. LifeVac removed the obstruction, allowing intubation and revival of the patient. Everyone on scene was thoroughly impressed by how effectively LifeVac worked and by the amount of food removed. After the airway was cleared, the patient was transported to the hospital for further evaluation. We plan on purchasing additional LifeVac units.”
