On November 8th, 2025 a 2-month-old girl choked on mucus and vomit resulting in a total obstruction. Protocol was followed. LifeVac successfully dislodged the obstruction on its second attempt. The child's mother described the incident as follows:
“On Saturday night at midnight while holding my 2-month-old I heard her begin to spit up. Within seconds of sitting her up she began to choke. Her nose and mouth were both full. We tried all approaches including a bulb suction. Once she began turning blue and her eyes were becoming purple all around my husband grabbed our LifeVac. The first attempt was unsuccessful due to us not getting a good suction on her small face & attempting to call 911 at the same time. The second time she was laid flat and we properly got a suction which pulled everything into her mouth. Once we got that out of her mouth, she was able to start getting small breaths while we waited on EMS to arrive. By the time EMS arrived, her color had started returning. She was checked by them and monitored. It was determined nothing was aspirated. We both truly believe the LifeVac saved her. So thankful for our LifeVac. We will continue to buy for every baby shower gift. Everyone in our family has one and we supplied our son’s preschool with them as well.”
