On August 23rd, 2025 a 1 year old girl choked on a piece of watermelon resulting in a total obstruction. Protocol was followed. LifeVac successfully dislodged the obstruction on its second attempt. The child's father described the incident as follows:
“My daughter was choking on a piece of watermelon. My brother was patting her on the back trying to dislodge the piece. I grabbed the LifeVac and managed to suction the piece out. My daughter is doing great now. I can’t remember much from during the incident as it happened so fast and I was entirely focused on remembering the steps for LifeVac (good thing you guys provided the test piece for the home kit). I do recall that she had tears in her eyes and took a final wet gasp for air before it was completely silent. So maybe it was an initial partial obstruction that turned into a total obstruction. I believe your product saved her life and I am eternally grateful.”
